Tuscany is one of the most beautiful venues in the world to celebrate wedding and lots of foreign couples choose it for their ‘Big Day‘. There is plenty of choice among Medici villas, prestigious hotels, manors and ancient dreaming farmhouses where to celebrate the wedding and do the reception, Heidi and Alex chose Vincigliata Castle located on the hills around Florence, near Fiesole. Vincigliata is a fascinating place from which you have a wonderful view of Florence.
The bride, Heidi, got ready at the Villa San Michele, a beautiful luxury hotel in Fiesole. After getting ready a vintage Rolls Royce has been called to pick her up to Castle Vincigliata where friends, relatives and of course Alex, her future husband, were waiting her arrival. The whole ceremony was held in the castle garden under an arch of flowers in a typical anglosaxon style.
For the photographic session with just the couple, Vincigliata Castle always it offers many interesting spots. Heidi and Alex did not love posed pictures and so I could work with a style typical of my reportage photography even if I took also few formal portraits. I did not use so much ‘my’ infrared photography because to enhance its characteristics had to be very ‘green’ and the Castle does not offer many opportunities. I liked it so much moving around to the spouses to try to capture their spontaneous emotions, their sincere joy and true. After the end of the aperitif, tossing the bouquet and the subsequent invitation to sit down for dinner.
As their wedding photographer I really enjoyed. The married couple trusted in my photography. I faced the day with the idea of doing a story in photo journalistic and reportage style combining also with a few posed portrait. A light touch of vintage (touching up the photos) has, in my opinion, made, the whole service, more romantic.
